The interim government of Gerard Latortue and Alexandre Boniface illegally fired thousands of workers from Haiti's civil enterprises after the 2004 coup d'état. Among these include workers from the ports, teleco, old peoples home, national palace, police, garbage/sanitation, education, and public transportation.
